To start us off, you will get to know each other in this class by introducing yourself and meeting other course members in the social forum ‘ Getting to know you ‘ below. You may share your expectations of the proposed experience and interests as you bond to become a community of potential entrepreneurs in the field.


Outline of Internship/Field Experience

Internship/Field Experience allows the students to prospect and/or investigate the feasibility of their innovation/business idea with a company/institution operating in the same area of interest. It will contribute to the refinement of the innovation/business idea by integrating lessons learnt in the field on technical, economic, regulatory and legal aspects related to the development of their project, based on experience and data acquired while utilizing lessons learned in the program.


Course Description

With assistance from your assigned mentor you will identify either a national institution that provides a related micro-mini grid service or product or alternatively a local community that you feel has a demand for a service or product similar to the Smart Solution that you as a student are developing. Your assigned mentor will provide you with exercises to assist you in identifying the potential challenges facing the implementation of your business solution. You will be required to share the lesson learnt and how they apply to your context and prototype.
